waiting for her lover, umbrella, sibling love, walk,

peek-a-boo, sissy’s slippers, bud, happy morning,

So much fun! I love being able to capture life through my iPhone. It’s great to be able to have such accessibility to a camera throughout the day.ReplyCancel

“how i view” motherhood, fargo lifestyle photographer

Welcome to May’s edition of “how i view.” I have teamed up with a group of photographers to participate in a web blog circle. Each month we pick a different theme and interpret it in our own unique way. Please follow along to Carol to see how she views motherhood.

When I saw that “motherhood” was this month’s topic I was really excited. I thought, this is going to be fun and easy however I am a loss for words. How do you describe motherhood? How do I put into words that the day my daughter was born it felt like my life really began? Is there a way to make someone understand the intense unconditional love you feel for your own child? How it literally brings you pain to see your kids growing up so quickly? My day is filled with a lot of mundane tasks such as feeding my children, packing lunches, car pools, constant cleaning and picking up messes, breaking up sibling squabbles, enduring whining, spelling words and homework, 3am wake up calls and never a guaranteed night of sleep balanced by hugs and kisses, snuggles, watching my kids bond, thank yous, giggles, love, love and more love. Who else but a mom gets to spend the day with “batman” and “hermione granger?” Motherhood is reliving your childhood through your own child’s eyes. My job is so much more than simple everyday tasks, make believe, sleepless nights followed by mornings with lots of coffee. How about the awesome responsibility of molding a tiny human being into a happy, healthy successful adult? I think William Ross Wallace says it best “The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.”

little cupcake, fargo toddler photographer

A few months back I went over to C’s house for her one year photos.  She had the most adorable nursery!  This girl was all smiles especially when it was time for her to eat a cupcake.  Her mama jumped in for a few photos and I was able to get one of her dog, just not C with her dog.  Better luck next time.

little b, fargo family & toddler photographer

this sweet one year old was on the go.  she had been walking for months. Even though she was newly one she was an experienced walker, therefore fast!  it is a challenge photographing one year olds but when they are indoors there is less option to chase them around.   she did however love dancing.  And she loved it when I jumped. So as silly as I looked, I jumped!  If you ever see me jump for your child you can thank little b.

sisters, fargo family & child photographer

After I had Sophia I decided that I would have two more girls. I envisioned a house full of pink, princesses, barbies, and of course American Girls.  Yep we would have only girls, sisters.  Obviously Finn happened.  And I am so glad he did as he is perfect for us!  This family however does have three lovely, sweet and gorgeous girls.  I had SO much fun photographing them.  We laughed a lot.  I think their mom and I laughed even more than they did.  I have this app…anyway just glad the neighbors were not outside.  We did a last minute Christmas card shoot at their home.  Another confession.  I love photographing little ones.  Not gonna lie, loved how easy it was to photograph a family in which their youngest is 6!  And families often stop getting photographs taken once their children get older. They aren’t changing as quickly and their cute baby fat is gone.  Here is the thing, they are still changing  and they are just as cute without their baby chub.  So do not stop photographing them and definitely contact me!  Because when they are older we can be more creative and most likely we will not have to bribe them with fruit snacks. Maybe an iPhone but not fruit snacks.
